The Orioles made a pair of minor trades Tuesday, sending infielder Steve Lombardozzi to the Pittsburgh Pirates and catcher Michael Ohlman to the St. Louis Cardinals for cash considerations.
Lombardozzi, 26, was acquired by the Orioles from the Detroit Tigers for veteran infielder Alex Gonzalez last March. He batted .288 with two RBIs in 20 games in the major leagues and hit .270 with 30 RBIs in 78 games for Triple-A Norfolk during the 2014 season.
The Orioles outrighted Lombardozzi, a Howard County native and Atholton High graduate, to Norfolk on Dec. 8, removing him from the 40-man roster during baseball's winter meetings.
