--Senior DE Chris McAllister knows the way into an opponent's backfield. A third of his 36 tackles have been for negative yardage, including a team-high 6.5 sacks.
SERIES HISTORY: Baylor has had its problems against Texas as the Longhorns lead the series 74-24-4 overall and 29-15-2 in Waco. The wins in 2010 and 2011 were the only ones for the Bears over the last 15 game. Texas won 56-50 last year in Austin.
NCAAF Team Report - Baylor - STRATEGY AND PERSONNEL
Scouting the running game: The Bears managed to rush for 164 yards against TCU, but that was 115 yards short of what they usually rush for. The return of RBs Lache Seastrunk and Glasco Martin should help the Bears against a Texas defense that is giving up over 176 yards a game to opposing rushers.
Scouting the passing game: Junior QB Bryce Petty completed only half his 38 pass attempts for season-low 206 yards in the win over the Horned Frogs, who held the Bears' top receiver, WR Antwan Goodley, to just one reception. Texas comes into the game with 35 sacks, which could be significant because Petty has been sacked 10 times in the last four games after getting caught just three times in the first seen outings.
Scouting the run defense: Baylor held TCU to just 122 yards rushing and is holding opponents to an average of just 134 a game for the season. The Longhorns, however, will provide a challenge after averaging over 200 yards a game rushing.
Scouting the pass defense: Baylor has 15 interceptions and has gotten to opposing quarterbacks for 31 sacks. Texas, however, has given up only 13 sacks and has been intercepted 11 times.
Scouting the special teams: Senior PK Aaron Jones is only 11 of 17 on the season after making three of his last four attempts. Junior P Spencer Roth is averaging 46.5 yards per attempt for the season.
--Junior RB Lache Seastrunk returned from a groin injury and rushed for 94 yards on 24 carries in the win over TCU.
--Senior RB Glasco Martin was back from a knee injury and had 69 yards on 17 rushes, many in the fourth quarter with the Bears trying to run the clock to preserve the three-point win over the Horned Frogs.
--Junior P Spencer Roth punted a season-high eight times in the win over TCU, averaging 45.1 yards and downing three inside TCU's 20-yard line.
--Senior S Ahmad Dixon will miss the first half of the game against Texas as a result of his ejection for targeting in the second half against TCU. He was moved from back to safety against TCU after playing the first 10 games at nickel.
--Senior LB Bryce Hager has not played the last two games after sustaining a groin injury in the win over Texas Tech.
--Senior CB K.J. Morton is day-to-day with a groin injury.
--Senior LT Spencer Drango is out after having back surgery.
