Jerry Seinfeld has emerged as the world's wealthiest actor according to a new survey.

Conducted by Singapore-based Wealth-X, the survey estimates Seinfeld's fortune at $820 million. It is boosted to the tune of $400 million by last year's fifth network syndication deal for his "Seinfeld" show.

India's Shah Rukh Khan is named as the second richest with a fortune of some $600 million. A superstar actor with a global fan base, Khan has multiplied his assets by also doubling up as producer, TV host and media and sports investor.

Tom Cruise, who is able to command high fees and lucrative back end deals on his films, comes in third with a fortune of $480 million.
Tyler Perry and Johnny Depp are cited as having fortunes of $450 million.

Old timers also score well. Jack Nicholson who has a net worth of US$400 million came in 7th, while Clint Eastwood, 84, is the oldest on the list, and has an estimated personal fortune of US$370 million.

Tom Hanks is estimated to be worth $390 million.
