Film executives Alex Garcia, Jillian Share and Alex Hedlund have received promotions at Legendary Entertainment as the company is about to unleash "Godzilla" on moviegoers.
Garcia now serves as executive VP of production. An executive producer on "Godzilla," and Michael Mann's upcoming cyberthriller, Garcia is overseeing development on videogame adaptation "Mass Effect" and Mattel's "Hot Wheels." He has been at Legendary since 2009, and was a production executive at Bryan Singer's Bad Hat Harry Prods, where he worked on "House, M.D."
Guillermo del Toro's "Crimson Peak." Her previous credits include "Pacific Rim," "Seventh Son," and "42."
In addition to her duties at Legendary, Share also serves as an executive producer on the HUB's live action children's series "Spooksville," based on Christopher Pike's books.
And Hedlund is now VP of production. He joined Legendary in 2011 as a creative executive and was promoted to director of creative affairs a year later. He recently oversaw the horror pic "As Above, So Below," which will be Legendary's first release under new studio partner Universal Pictures in August.
All three report to Legendary president and chief creative officer Jon Jashni, who said the trio "each played an important role in the growth of Legendary's film division, serving on projects (including '42,' 'Pacific Rim,' '300: Rise of an Empire' and 'Godzilla') that continue to enrich our brand. We are excited to see them grow in these roles as they carry on their success at the company."
Legendary's upcoming projects gearing up to head into production include Nic Mathieu's "Spectral," "Brilliance," "Reminiscence," "Esperanza Fire," "The Art of War," supernatural thriller "Reviver" and Legendary East's first film, "The Great Wall."
