Linking European biggest film producer andone of France's senior indie producers, European film-TV group Studiocanal has boarded the new film from Maiwenn, "Rien ne sert de courir," which stars Emmanuelle Bercot and Vincent Cassel.
A passionate love story, "Rien" is produced by Alain Attal's Les Productions du Tresor and co-produced by Studiocanal and France 2 Cinema, in association with Canal+ and France Televisions.
Principal photography will commence March 10, for 11 weeks, on location in the Paris area and in the south-west France.
Maiwenn will direct and also co-wrote the script with Etienne Comar.
"Rien" marks Maiwenn's fourth feature andfollow-up to "Polisse," another Les Productions du Tresor production, which won the Jury Prize at the 2011 Cannes Festival and snagged 11 nominations at France's 2012 Cesar Awards.
It is also the fourth screenplay written by Etienne Comar, whose credits include the script of Xavier Beauvois' "Of Gods and Men," a Grand Prize winner at the 2010 Cannes Festival, which received 13 Cesar nominations in 2011.
