Hulu struck a deal with CBS for exclusive subscription video-on-demand rights for Sherlock Holmes-based drama "Elementary," under which Hulu Plus subscribers will be able to watch full past seasons of the show.
"Elementary," currently in its second season, will come to Hulu Plus, which costs $7.99 per month, sometime after the show's third campaign airs on the Eye. Last week CBS cut a syndie deal with Tribune Co.'s WGN America for "Elementary"; similarly, the rerun window for WGN America will not begin until after the show concludes its third season on CBS.
21st Century Fox -- reached a deal with the Eye for primetime hit "The Good Wife," under which the first four seasons became available on Hulu Plus with the season-five premiere.

"After the breakthrough success of 'The Good Wife' on Hulu Plus, we're excited to offer subscribers more past seasons of outstanding current CBS programming, as the exclusive subscription video-on-demand home for 'Elementary,'" Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins said in announcing the pact.
"Elementary" was the most-watched new series in broadcast television during the 2012-13 season and currently averages 12.1 million viewers. The show is produced by CBS Television Studios and exec produced by Rob Doherty, Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman and Craig Sweeny. "Elementary" stars Jonny Lee Miller as detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson in contemporary New York City.
