Jackie Collins and her Chances banner has teamed with Amber Entertainment to produce a movie adaptation of "Confessions of a Wild Child," her latest novel, which St. Martin's Press will release on Tuesday.

Collins will adapt the novel and produce alongside Amber's Ileen Maisel, who recently produced "Romeo and Juliet," starring Hailee Steinfeld, Ed Westwick and Damien Lewis. The duo will launch an online search for their lead by asking actresses to submit auditions through a website.

"Confessions of a Wild Child" is the prequel to Collins' Lucky Santangelo novels and centers on a 15-year-old Lucky who breaks free from boarding school, and the hand of her father, to navigate through her teen years and eventually become the powerful woman portrayed in eight of Collins' novels.

"I am thrilled to be bringing Lucky Santangelo to the bigscreen," Collins said. "She's a kick-ass female, and we need more of those!"

Collins has written 29 novels, including "Hollywood Wives," "Poor Little Bitch Girl," "Lovers and Players" and "Married Lovers." She has written "The Lucky Santangelo Cookbook," which St. Martin's Press will release on April 8.
