Gearing up for Goteborg's Nordic Film Market, LevelK has acquired Tonje Hessen Schei's "Drone," a Norwegian-produced docu shedding light on the drone industry.
The docu, produced by Lars Loge at Flimmer Film, investigates the consequences of drone warfare and the impact of technological advancement and lagging legislation.
Henrik Underbjerg at Radiator, whose credits include Sundance-preeming doc "Sepideh," is co-producing "Drone."
Now in production, "Drone" has already enlisted major local and international backers, including Franco-German net ARTE, TV2 Norway, Denmark's DR, the Norwegian Film Institute, the E.U.'s Media Program, Norway's VestNorsk Filmsenter and Norsk Kulturrad (art council of Norway). LevelK is shopping the doc in two versions - a feature length and a 58 minute version -- set for a Fall 2014 delivery.
"LevelK has an impressive presence in the international market, representing cutting edge films from both fiction and documentary. (The outfit's) eye for talent and engagement in current issues is very well mixed with a great understanding of the market, making important films like 'Drone' meet a large international audience," said Loge, adding that LevelK's new media expertise is another plus for the docu's distribution options.
