The Motion Picture Sound Editors unveiled the nominees, including awards season contenders "Gravity," "12 Years a Slave" and "Captain Phillips," for the 61st annual Golden Reel Awards in feature film categories.

The MPSE Golden Reel Awards recognize outstanding achievement in sound editing in 22 categories including feature films, television, animation, computer entertainment and student work. The awards will take place on Feb. 17 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles. Nominations for television, animation and computer entertainment categories will be announced on Friday, Jan. 17.
