"The X Factor" creator Simon Cowell confirmed tonight that fellow judge Demi Lovato will be departing the Fox singing competition while he did press on the red carpet for the finale.
News confirms a story published by People earlier today reporting that Lovato will exit the series in order to pursue her music career more fully.
Britney Spears, L.A. Reid, Cheryl Cole, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul have also ankled the judges' table. Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio, who just completed their first season judging "X Factor," are still on board the show as of now. Cowell mentioned to journos during a conference call earlier this week that when the show returns for a fourth season, he may have a different role, one that does not involve him judging the competition. No deals are in place yet, however, for a renewal of "X Factor."
"The X Factor's" season three finale airs tomorrow night on Fox.
