It looks like Christmas 2015 is going to be a very busy time for J.J. Abrams.

"Mission: Impossible 5," which he's producing along with star Tom Cruise and Skydance Productions head David Ellison, is set for a Paramount release on Christmas Day 2015 -- just a week after Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII" hits theaters.

The latest sequel also comes out on the same day as Ben Affleck's "Live by Night."

Cruise will reprise his role as spy Ethan Hunt, though fellow agents Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg have not yet been confirmed to return to the franchise.

"Iron Man 3" scribe Drew Pearce penned the script for the upcoming action pic, and Christopher McQuarrie is set to direct.

The previous installment in the series, "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol," culled nearly $700 million worldwide after its December 2011 release.
