Dougherty made the 2007 horror/comedy anthology, which became one of horror's biggest underdog success stories. Legendary Pictures sent the film -- which interweaves four Halloween stories while playing on classic Halloween tropes, including the importance of checking your Halloween candy before consumption -- straight to DVD, where it would go on to sell 550,000 copies and stream on iTunes and Amazon (it also had a limited run on Netflix).
Beyond Fest. Seth Green is hosting the Q&A, which will also feature stars Brian Cox and Dylan Baker.
Director Bryan Singer, who worked with Dougherty on "Superman Returns" and "X2," also tweeted that he'll be there.
Thanks everyone for your questions! If anyone is going to @trickrtreat tonight at the Egyptian, I'll see you there!--The event start at 7:30 p.m. PST.
