LONDON -- German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has secured remake rights to Danish dating format "Married at First Sight."
The net has made a straight-to-series order, with Red Seven Entertainment producing the German version.
In the show, six singles who have failed to find love marry a complete stranger. After six weeks of marriage they have to decide whether to stay together.
Originally created by Red Arrow's Snowman Productions, "Married at First Sight" was a hit for Danish web DR3, topping its channel average by almost 500%.
Henrik Pabst, senior VP global format acquisitions at Red Arrow International, said: "Talk of the town at Mipcom and a game changer for Denmark's DR3, 'Married at First Sight' is the must-have reality show. And now ProSiebenSat.1 has secured a straight-to-series order for Europe's biggest television market -- and looking at the ongoing negotiations around the world."
