As James Cameron is revving up pre-production on the upcoming "Avatar" sequels, he has made his first move on the casting front, though it's not exactly a new character.
Stephen Lang, who played Colonel Quaritch in the first film, is set to reprise his role in the upcoming sequels. Though it appeared that Lang met his end in the first film, Cameron seems determined to find a way to get him back for the next three films.
Sam Worthington is also expected to return to the franchise and recently announced that filming will start next October.
Cameron has tapped Josh Friedman to write the first pic, Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver to pen the second and Shane Salerno will write the third.
The Innovative Artist-repped Lang was most recently seen in "The Monkey's Paw."
