Former TruTV topper Marc Juris has been named prexy and g.m. of AMC Networks' femme-focused cabler We TV.
Kim Martin exited as head of We TV last week after nine years at the helm.
"Marc possesses a unique blend of programming and marketing expertise and has a proven track record of growing both brands and ratings."
Juris led Turner Broadcasting's TruTV through its rebranding from CourtTV and its growth into a top 10 basic cabler with unscripted hits such as "Hardcore Pawn." He exited TruTV in May after nearly 10 years Turner fold following the expiration of his contract, which was not renewed by Turner brass.
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to lead WE tv at this moment in its evolution, and to rejoin a company that played a major role in launching and shaping my career," Juris said.
We TV has had a hard time gaining ratings traction outside of a few unscripted skeins including "Bridezillas" and "Braxton Family Values." Following in the footsteps of AMC Networks siblings AMC and Sundance Channel, We is set to launch its first scripted series, "The Divide," from Richard LaGravenese and Tony Goldwyn, next year.
