Two senior litigation attorneys at NBCUniversal have joined the litigation firm of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman to launch an entertainment practice in Century City.
John Berlinski, who was senior vice president and head of West Coast television litigation at NBCU, will chair the entertainment practice group, with a focus on entertainers, talent agencies and others who have "backend" profit participation interests. Joining him is Mansi Shah, who served as senior litigation counsel at NBCU.
Berlinski managed all of NBCU's television litigation on the West Coast, as well as disputes involving profit participation, copyright, idea theft, right to privacy and labor and employment. He earned his law degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree from Cornell U.
Shah was the lead lawyer for the NBCU team in profit participation litigation, as well as all disputes concerning profit participation audits. She earned her law degree from UCLA School of Law, a master of law degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois.
