Mark Weingartner, Julio Macat, ASC, Dr. Corey Carbonara and Kristopher Tapley will be honored for contributions to cinematographic arts at a luncheon Sept. 27.
The Kodak Mentorship Award will go to Macat, who recently mentored students at Pepperdine U., the AFI, NYU, Chapman College and Scottsdale Community College and taught a seminar at Disney Animation. He's shot several high-grossing films, including his first hit, "Home Alone."
Carbonara will receive the Nat Tiffen Award for education contributions to the art and craft of cinematography. He has served in a variety of capacities on the Federal Communications Commission, the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers and other organizations.
Tapley, editor of blog In Contention at HitFix.com, will be honored with the William A. Fraker Award for journalistic contributions to the art and craft of cinematography.
The Emerging Cinematography Awards will be held Sept. 27 at the ASC Clubhouse in Hollywood.
