GDYNIA, Poland -- Arrow Films has acquired all U.K. rights to Michael Caine starrer "Mr. Morgan's Last Love."

Global Screen has sold the romantic drama, which screened at the Locarno Film Festival, to more than 30 territories, including the U.S., Australia, Scandinavia, Italy, Spain and Russia.

The film is the bittersweet tale of a lonely widower in Paris who learns to love life again after a chance encounter with a beautiful and vibrant young woman. The German-Belgian co-production is written and directed by Sandra Nettelbeck ("Mostly Martha") and based on the French novel "La Douceur Assassine" by Francoise Dorner. The score is composed by Hans Zimmer.

"Arrow are delighted to bring a film with such warm-hearted performances to U.K. and Irish audiences," said Tom Stewart, acquisitions chief with Arrow.

Klaus Rasmussen, senior sales manager with Global Screen, said, "With Senator achieving great box office figures in Germany, we are confident that 'Mr. Morgan's Last Love' will also do well in Michael Caine's homeland."

Up to Sept. 11, the film had grossed €723,644 ($961,496) at the German B.O. It is playing at 119 theaters, having opened at 57 locations on Aug. 22.

Arrow is aiming at an early 2014 release.
