Launching in stores Sept. 20, the iPhone 5s will be sold for $199 at 16GB and 32GB for $299; a 64GB version will be available for $399 with a two-year contract.
Apple Plays Safe with iPhone Evolution, Not Revolution
"It's the most forward-thinking phone we've ever created. It's packed with incredible technologies," said company executive Phil Schiller. "The iPhone 5s is a huge leap forward in mobile computing performance."
Apple also unveiled a lower-cost iPhone model dubbed the iPhone 5c, which features a 4-inch Retina display, integrated touch and am 8-megapixel camera that will have an improved Facetime HD camera. The price? The 16 GB model is $99 and 32GB is $199 on a two-year contract in the U.S.
As for the company's next mobile operating system, iOS 7 will be available as a free download on Sept. 18.
