Nielsen estimates than an average crowd of 2.6 million watched the Tyler Perry
-created soap starring John Schneider
and Tika Sumpter -- nearly 50% more than the 1.77 million who tuned in for the series premiere in late May.
It has performed especially well for OWN in the net's target women 25-54 demo, rising week to week with each of its last eight episodes.
The series about the powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their Savannah, Ga., mansion returns with its second season in January.
Also on cable Tuesday, TNT
's real-life crime series "Cold Justice" premiered to 2.9 million viewers, including nearly 950,000 adults 25-54.
