The studio will sell a Blu-ray 3D combo pack, for $45; a Blu-ray combo pack ($36); two-disc DVD special edition ($29); a 3D limited collector's edition ($60); and digital downloads, with pricing of those depending on the services on which they're offered.
iTunes, Xbox, PlayStation, Amazon, Vudu, CinemaNow, and as a video-on-demand title from cable and satellite providers, and on select gaming consoles and broadband customers including Amazon and iTunes.
While many studios are offering tentpole titles earlier on digital formats, "Man of Steel" will bow simultaneously on all platforms at the same time.
The Blu-ray 3D combo pack will feature the theatrical version of the film in 3D HD, HD and standard definition, as well as a digital version to store on UltraViolet, covering every platform and device.
The 3D limited collector's edition will include all formats, as well as a metal "S" glyph with lucite glass stand (see above).
All of the packages, except the DVD edition, include:
â "Journey of Discovery: Creating "Man of Steel:" The ability to watch the movie with director Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and other castmembers as they share their journey to re-imagine Superman.
â "Strong Characters, Legendary Roles:" A look at the characters of the Superman mythology and how they have evolved in "Man of Steel."
â "All-Out Action:" A look at the training regimen that turned Cavill into Superman, and Michael Shannon and Antje Traue into his Kyptonian nemeses.
â "Krypton Decoded:" Dylan Sprayberry, who played the younger Clark Kent, examines the film's Krypton tech, weapons and spaceships.
â "Planet Krypton:" A look at the world's first exploration of Krypton and its lost society.
The DVD edition features the "Strong Characters, Legendary Roles;" "All-Out Action" and "Krypton Decoded" featurettes.
"Man of Steel" has earned $649 million at the global box office. A follow up is planned for summer 2015 that will feature Superman and Batman.
