The 50-second video begins with "Battle School Needs You!" title card and Harrison Ford intoning, "When the enemy first invaded, we were not ready."
Butterfield stars as Ender Wiggin, a strategically brilliant boy who's recruited to join the school, quickly masters increasingly difficult challenges and is promoted to command school to train for a battle that will determine the future of Earth. The film is based on the novel by Orson Scott Card.
Lionsgate will release the film on Nov. 1. The film has received plenty of recent publicity over a boycott stemming from Card's opposition to gay marriage.
