The New Orleans Police Department has re-arrested a woman who escaped from the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office Monday night.

Torrie Smith, 31, was awaiting booking at the OPCSO intake processing center, escaped when an NOPD officer left two doors unsecured. Smith was to be booked with aggravated battery for domestic violence after a confrontation with her boyfriend.

Video monitoring tapes show that the NOPD officer who entered the intake center prevented two doors from locking behind him, thus allowing the arrestee to exit the facility.

ABC26's Curt Sprang is investigating.
