The genius of Tom Ford’s designs stand on their own. Known for his innate ability to inject glamour into everything he touches, his work at the helm of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent demonstrated this notion in the ‘90s. In 2006, he launched his own line of menswear and accessories and top selling perfume Black Orchid Tom Ford. His Whitney sunglasses were an instant hit with style savvy starlets such as Kate Hudson, Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie.

When he decided to launch his color collection in 2011, the line was nothing short of exquisite. The meticulous designer spent years developing the perfect shades, utilizing the finest ingredients and getting the packaging just right on his line. Ford fanatics and couture beauty product lovers can breath a sigh of relief now that the entire Ford cosmetics collection has its own counter at Neiman Marcus in Boca Raton.

While each Ford counter is different and unique to the store it’s housed in, the instantly pleasing aesthetics are the same. The Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour Ford counter is all white. His Neiman Marcus Boca counter is a rich wood display. With a degree in architecture, it’s obvious why Ford’s displays and packaging are as mesmerizing as the products themselves. There’s a delightfully bold and modular presence to each of Ford’s products from his square, gold lipstick cases and nail polish bottles to eye shadow quads.

There is no product in his collection that is created without purpose. You will not find a single lipliner in his collection because he doesn’t believe in it and he prefers smoky eyes so his eye shadow palettes mirror that. Always an innovator, he has also created products that can be applied effortlessly for a flawless finish. His Eye Primer Duo ($45) is an oil-absorbing wonder cream that is worn under eye shadow for a smooth finish that doesn’t fade for up to 15 hours. His Eye Defining Pen ($55) is double-sided and literally glides on like a calligraphy pen. One end is thinner then the other so you can choose how dramatic of a line you want to make.

“Make up is the most potent way for a woman to transform herself,” Tom Ford said in a press booklet highlighting his beauty collection. “It is how she achieves true glamour and makes a fashion statement with her face.”

And when it comes to color, Ford’s collection goes full throttle with bold lipstick hues such as Wild Ginger ($49) and Violet Fatale ($49) and fierce eye shadows such as his Seductive Rose Eye Color Quad ($78). But to truly comprehend the essence of Ford’s cosmetics collection, Ford sums it up best on Tomford.com. “Sensuous, for me, is one of the most important words that I would use to describe my cosmetics collection,” He said on his web site. “Beauty that is sensuous is touchable. Sensuous beauty is powerful and my color cosmetics collection is designed to help women amplify their own individual beauty.”

A major part of what will set Ford’s collection apart from other brands each season is his profound eye for trends. Ford is famous for starting them. With exotic lip shades such as Bruised Plum and the ombre She Wolf eye color palette, Ford will definitely have fashionistas in a frenzy howling for more.
