FAU will have a chance to leave the Sun Belt Conference as league champions.
The Owls won their 10th straight game Saturday, advancing to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship game with a 5-4 win over Arkansas State.
FAU will play the winner of Louisiana and South Alabama at 1 p.m. Sunday. The game will be broadcast on CSS in South Florida.
The Owls were opportunistic in their Saturday win, pouncing on three Arkansas State errors in the fourth inning, and FAU pounced, scoring three runs, all unearned to take a 4-2 lead in the game.
A Dustin Keller RBI single pushed the lead to 5-2, which would prove the difference in the game, as Hugh Adams allowed two runs to the Red Wolves in the top of the ninth inning, but was able to calm the storm and close the contest out.
FAU had jumped on the board first with Levi Meyer doubling home Brandon Sanger in the bottom of the second inning. Arkansas State answered with two runs in the next half-inning, using a Ryan Emery RBI single and a Stuart Levy sacrifice fly to open up a 2-1 lead.
FAU's 10-game winning streak is the team's longest since 2004 (11 games). Unless the Owls make an undefeated run to the College World Series, FAU will not be able to match the Sun Belt record for consecutive victories, which is 18, set by Old Dominion in 1985.
