Evita Williams, 24, is accused of breaking into a locked bedroom at her in-laws' home near Longwood on Thursday to steal the family's 14-year-old Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix named Ginger, then beating the dog to death with a baseball bat in the back yard, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

A witness told deputies Williams wrapped up the dog's body and drove to condos near Altamonte Springs, where she disposed of Ginger in a dumpster.

Her husband, Richard Franklin Williams, 30, was also busted on unrelated charges of dealing in stolen property and fraud.

Bail is set at $1,200 for Evita Williams, and she'll be required to wear a GPS tracking anklet -- when she gets out of jail.

Sounds like she needs a permanent cage.
