BGR The Burger Joint is holding a presidential burger battle.
The 20-unit chain with locations in Coral Gables (232 Miracle Mile, 305-461-9989) and Kendall (Carter Square, 13668 SW 88th St., 305-386-5658) created two unique burgers late last month to coincide with the election.
And so far the Obama Burger is in the lead nationally, while the Romney Burger has the edge in Florida. The Florida numbers are close, however, with Romney ahead 116 to Obama’s 110.
The Obama Burger starts with a signature BGR patty that’s then topped with a Chicago Vienna Beef hot dog, neon green relish and sport peppers. The Romney Burger starts with the same patty that’s toped with lobster and hollandaise.
Both burgers are $10.99 with $1 from the sale of each Presidential Burger going to the Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign.
