SUMMERSET, S.D. - The Summerset Police Department says 5 or 6 teenagers went on a vandalism spree at a local construction yard over the weekend.
Summerset Police Chief Don Allen says the juveniles allegedly broke several windows and even started a piece of equipment on fire.
"The teenagers set a fire in the bucket of a piece of equipment and as they were running away, one of the teenagers fell and hit his head on a piece of material on the ground," Allen says.
The teenager was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The fire didn't heavily damage the equipment. There was no dollar damage reported for the broken windows.
Allen says the incident took place at Rapid Construction in Summerset.
Summerset police say charges against the youth, who range in age from 14 to 16 years-old, are pending as the investigation continues.
