Congratulations to Adam Riess on his winning the 2015 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics ("Hopkins astrophysicist honored for discoveries about the universe," Nov. 10).
His discovery in the acceleration in the expansion of the universe is exciting. But it should not be a surprise.
With what is happening on this planet, can you blame the rest of the universe for moving away as fast as it can?
