The Band: Karl Edmonson — keyboard Kyle Paulk — guitar Bob Henry — drums Marlon Moore — bass Geoff Snyder — vocal

How they started: Bob Henry, Kyle Paulk and Geoff Snyder performed together for five years in the eight-member band The Robert Henry Orchestra. They decided to reconfigure the band and trim it to a five-piece funk band. In 2006, Henry and Paulk recruited Marlon Moore and later Karl Edmonson to form what would become Soul Funkshun.

Behind the name: The name Soul Funkshun came from the band’s musical specialties — old school funk with a mix of soul, R&B and disco.

Genres: Soul Funkshun covers artists such as Stevie Wonder, Parliament Funkadelic, The Isley Brothers, The Commodores, Kool & The Gang and more.
