Republican state Sen. J.B. Jennings, of Joppa, who has spent more than a decade in the Maryland General Assembly, is being challenged for his Senate seat by Democrat Kim Letke, also of Joppa, a former police officer who is a government contractor.
Jennings, 40, lives in Joppa; he was a member of the House of Delegates from 2003 to 2011, and he was elected to his first term in the Senate in 2010. Jennings took office in the Senate in early 2011.
He is a former co-owner of The Mill of Hereford in Baltimore County, but he has sold his controlling interest.
