Betty J. Alevizatos, a retired elementary school educator who was active in the affairs of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, died of cancer Friday at the Blakehurst retirement community in Towson. She was 84. The daughter of Christ Alevizatos and Chrissie Alevizatos, restaurateurs who established the old Mount Vernon Restaurant on Charles Street, Betty Jean Alevizatos was born in Baltimore and raised in Waverly. After graduating in 1947 from Eastern High School, she attended Mount St. Agnes College in Mount Washington before transferring to Beaver College, now Arcadia University, in Glenside, Pa.
