Twelve Chicago community areas each logged a gunshot homicide in the last week, according to a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data.

On the South Side, killings were recorded in Bridgeport, Chatham, Chicago Lawn, Englewood, Fuller Park, Greater Grand Crossing, South Chicago, South Deering and South Shore, according to information from police. Victims ranged in age from 19 to 58.

On the West Side, a 17-year-old boy was shot to death Sunday in the 500 block of North Laverge Avenue in Austin. Two days later, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the 3900 block of West Grenshaw Street in North Lawndale, police said.

On the North Side, a 16-year-old boy was shot to death Saturday in the 3900 block of North St. Louis Avenue in Irving Park, according to officials.

Meanwhile, May ended last week with 43 homicides, down from 46 homicides in May 2013, RedEye determined.

Five homicides have been logged so far this month. Forty-four homicides were recorded in June 2013, RedEye determined.
