Column | Oct 17, 2013 | 5:48 PMQ: PennDOT recently placed signs on southbound Route 100/29 approaching St. Peters Road, warning of a bridge with a 31-ton weight limit ahead and posting the detour on St. Peters. As a result, numerous tractor-trailers take the dangerous detour route on this narrow, winding and hilly residential road, as well as other, similar 'back roads'. This traffic is constant, all day and all night long. I feel we are all being used as political pawns by PennDOT. They're trying to make all our lives miserable with these trucks to help secure the bridge-repair money they want from the Legislature. I don't think that's right, regardless of where you stand on the overall funding question.
