Obama arrives in Bay Area for Democratic fundraisers

SAN FRANCISCO President Barack Obama arrived Friday for a two-day fundraising blitz to bolster his Democratic Party's flagging fortunes for November's midterm election. Air Force One touched down at San Francisco International Airport at 3:32 p.m. On hand to greet the president were U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Calif. Obama briefly worked a rope line, where about 50 guests had been invited to watch the arrival, before his motorcade departed the airport at 3:46 p.m. en route to the Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco's South of Market area.
