Anyone who is completely dispirited by Maryland's governor's race (and by this point, who isn't?) was in for a pleasant surprise today with the campaign's sole debate between the nominees for lieutenant governor, Republican Boyd Rutherford and Democrat Ken Ulman. The candidates disagreed with each other, to be sure, and engaged in some of the lines of attack that their respective ticket-leaders unleash on each other every time they meet.
