A former FBI agent says he'll run for his brother's seat in Congress in eastern Pennsylvania's highly competitive 8th District.
Brian Fitzpatrick made the campaign announcement Thursday evening.
Republican Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick is leaving the seat after his fourth term representing part of Bucks County and a sliver of Montgomery County in moderate suburban Philadelphia. Fitzpatrick served one term in the office, was beaten in 2006 by Democrat Patrick Murphy, and won the office back in 2010.
Brian Fitzpatrick joins a crowded GOP primary field. The deadline to file signatures to get on the ballot is Feb. 16. The primary election is April 26.
