Malloy Calls For Unity Following Republican Gains, GOP Leader Calls It 'A New World'

The morning after Republican Donald Trump's historic victory in a bitter and divisive presidential election, Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy called for unity.

"Many people will be asking themselves, what comes next?" he said at a news conference at the state Capitol. "Put simply, we continue to work. We take care of our children. We remember that regardless of party, there are good people working hard at every level of government."

Malloy, who was a top surrogate for Hillary Rodham Clinton in multiple states as chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, said Trump's victory could be attributed to voters who felt "left behind"...
