Graduate students from the University of Michigan who are studying the Tannery Creek watershed will be hosting a community forum on Monday, March 4.
The forum will take place at two times throughout the day. Residents and businesses who live or work along Tannery Creek are invited to either the 9 a.m. session or the 7 p.m. session. Both sessions will take place at the Bear Creek Township Hall, 373 N. Division Road in Petoskey.
"We hope to make this a true forum in the sense that it is interactive and incorporates the viewpoints of everyone present," she said.
The study of the Tannery Creek watershed began in August 2012, when graduate students from University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment began polling businesses and residents along the creek.
The students wanted to assess how the creek and the land nearby the creek was being used.
The graduate students want to continue to work with the community about the Tannery Creek watershed. Members from Petoskey's Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council will also be on hand to answer questions.
