YMCA of Northern Michigans garage sale to provide scholarships for children to attend Camp Pet-O-Se-Ga is on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, at Fletchs in Petoskey. It is in need of items for the sale. To donate, drop items off at the YMCA office, 434 E. Lake St., Petoskey or call Shelly at (231) 348-8393 to arrange for a pickup. The following items would be greatly appreciated: books, antiques, collectibles, DVDs, CDs, furniture, lamps, paintings, sports equipment, tools, garden tools, luggage, craft items, glassware, dishes, office supplies, office equipment, building supplies, toys, bikes, baskets, tablecloths, comforters, fashion boots, winter wear, cowboy boots, prom dresses and designer dresses.
YMCA of Northern Michigan 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is in need of referees and scorekeepers for the tournament to be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Petoskey High School gym. There will be two shifts, one at 8:30 a.m. and the other at 12:30 p.m. Call Shelly at the YMCA office, (231) 348-8393, to volunteer.
A daughter, Abigail Lee Johnson, was born to Kristen and Lance Johnson of Oden at 4:31 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Abigail weighed 8 pounds and was 19 1/4 inches long at birth. Grandparents are Rhonda Kolarik of Petoskey, Lance and Marcella Johnson of Cheboygan, Kathleen and James Blackwell of Talbott, Tenn., and Timothy Stevers of Lincoln Park.
A daughter, Khloe Ann Cowell, was born to Ashlee Bryant and Brian Cowell of Levering on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Khloe weighed 5 pounds, 4 ounces and was 17 inches long at birth. She has a brother, Brian Cowell Jr., age 3 1/2. Grandparents are Kimberly Adkisson of Flint, Wayne Bryan of Cheboygan, and Mike and Vicky Cowell of Carp Lake.
