Maryland State Police have no updates in the Jan. 7 shooting in Port Deposit, which killed one man and critically wounded two people, including the shooter.

State Police Sgt. Marc Black said Tuesday police have nothing new to report in the case and have also not officially released the shooter's name.

Timothy S. Hammons, 48, was found killed inside his home in the 200 block of Craigtown Road just after 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 7.

He and an Edgewood woman, identified as Eileen L. Roland, 56, of the 2400 block of Philadelphia Road, were both critically wounded.

The shooting took place after a confrontation and the shooter was allegedly the woman's estranged husband.

When troopers arrived, they found Roland on the front porch with a gunshot wound to her upper torso, according to a State Police media release.

Inside, Mr. Hammons was on the floor; he had been shot in the chest. He was unresponsive, according to the release, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roland was flown by state police Medevac to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries. She was undergoing surgery the next day, a State Police spokesman said.

By the end of the week, she was no longer a patient at shock trauma, according to a shock trauma spokesperson.

The alleged shooter had left before troopers arrived, but was found a short distance away with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to Christiana Hospital in Newark, De., with life-threatening injuries.

State Police still have not released his name pending charges being filed, which will be determined by his medical condition, according to Sgt. Marc Black, a spokesman for the State Police, who said the shooter was also in surgery earlier Tuesday morning.

Multiple sources confirmed, however, the alleged shooter is William "Gary" Roland, Eileen Roland's estranged husband, who lives in Street.

Christiana Hospital said no one with that name was in the hospital by the end of the week of the shooting.

William Roland works for the Harford County Department of Public Works, according to county spokesman Robert Thomas.

Investigators are looking into possible motives in the shooting.
