WFTV-Channel 9 announced several weeks ago that anchor-reporter Bianca Castro was leaving.
But the station didn't know where she was going.
Castro revealed this week that she is headed to NBC-owned KXAS in Dallas and that she will anchor at 4 p.m. and report, WFTV news director Matt Parcell said Wednesday.
Castro's last day at WFTV will be Feb. 21. She came to the ABC affiliate in 2010.
She has strong ties to Texas: She grew up in Plano and worked in Waco and Corpus Christi. Her WFTV bio reads: "During college, I interned at WFAA in Dallas and was hooked! I graduated from Baylor University (sic 'em Bears!), where I met my husband."
Parcell has described her as "a great person to have in the newsroom."
Congratulations to her on the new job. She is moving from Orlando, the No. 18 TV market, to No. 5 Dallas-Fort Worth.
