After clawing back from a 13-point deficit, UCF fell on Wednesday night to rival USF, 65-56.

The Knights shot just 18.2-percent from three-point range in the loss, including a 1-for-12 performance in the second half that saw their comeback bid fall short in the final minutes.

UCF fought back behind a solid defensive performance from Calvin Newell, who worked to keep Bulls point guard Anthony Collins out of the game late -- an effort that helped hold USF without a field goal for more than 10 minutes.

After Isaiah Sykes fueled a 7-0 run, however, and the Knights tied the game with just more than two minutes left, a big three-pointer by USF was not answered and the Bulls pulled away with a 10-0 run.
