The UCF women's track team scored 35 points and placed fifth at the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships.

It was the highest finish by a school outside of a automatic qualifying Bowl Championship Series conference since 2000.

The Knights scored high finishes in the 4x100-meter relay and the 200-meter dash Saturday.

UCF's team of Alexis Faulknor, Aurieyall Scott, Afia Charles and Octavious Freeman finished second in the relay with a time of 43.36 seconds. Texas A&M's relay team took the top spot with a time of 42.88 seconds.

Scott finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.48 seconds, while Freeman finished in seventh with a time of 22.92 seconds.
