Offensive lineman Jordan Prestwood will not be enrolling at UCF this fall as expected, Knights coach George O'Leary said.
Prestwood, who had stints with both Florida State and Notre Dame, was expected to be transferring to UCF after taking community college classes this summer. The former four-star recruit was considered a challenger for the right tackle position.
"He will not be here in the fall due to a failure to fulfill his academic responsibilities," O'Leary told the Sentinel in an interview on Thursday.
Chris Martin is listed atop the depth chart at right tackle and will be backed up by Kelly Davison. That may give a unique twist to the position, as it surely is one of the oldest two-deeps in the country. Martin is a fifth-year senior, while Davison is a 27-year-old walk-on who did tours in Iraq with the Marines.
- UCF quarterback Troy Green is no longer with the program. He left the school to move closer to home. Green was behind four others (Blake Bortles, Tyler Gabbert, Justin Holman, Pete DiNovo) on the depth chart. His departure should open up a scholarship for next year for UCF, however.
- A number of preferred walk-ons enrolled in Summer 'B' along with the other freshman recruits. Those include former UCF center Jordan Rae's little brother Jason Rae, former UCF defensive lineman Wes Sauvao's brother Rob Sauvao, freshman recruit Jamonte Jones' twin brother Damonte Jones and Boone RB/DB Michael Willett.
Jason Rae was a former FIU recruit, while Willett could be an interesting addition. He told the Sentinel that UCF will give him a chance to play running back, something he didn’t do much of in high school because he was backing up four-year starter and Georgia signee, A.J. Turman (4-star recruit, ranked No. 235 nationally by Rivals).
