The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been accused of not plugging in their guitars for the half time performance with Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl.

Controversy is surrounding the Red Hot Chili Peppers' halftime performance at the Super Bowl, with fans saying the guitarists didn't even bother to plug in their instruments, according to Fansided.com.

Photos are being circulated of bassist Michael “Flea” Balzary and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer playing their instruments, but no cords are visible.

Some are speculating that the instruments may have had wireless transmitters, but others have found photos of the musicians playing the same instruments with cords attached.

The band hasn't released any sort of statement about its performance, although Flea did respond to one fan on Twitter writing "No trickery. No choice, but no trickery."
