Marvin (6-1, 188) first attended USF’s spring practice Friday. He had seen the Tampa campus before, so he focused specifically on how the Bulls ran their practice.
“I got a chance to watch them practice, watch the DBs,” Marvin said. “I got to talk to the DBs and I got a chance to talk to Coach [Skip] Holtz. He was telling me again how I have a scholarship to go there and how they want me there and all that. I told him I’m still waiting and I talked it over with my family and it’s early right now.”

He then went to Orlando on Saturday to see UCF during the school’s junior day.
After his first visit to UCF, Marvin walked away impressed and even somewhat surprised.
“I was expecting it to be a good visit, but whenever I got there, I was blown away,” he said. “It’s the most beautiful campus I’ve been to out of all colleges I’ve seen. They’ve got all the up-to-date facilities and all that, the indoor facility. So it was good.”
Marvin attended part of UCF’s spring practice, where he hung out with Crestview running back Micah Reed, Marvin’s friend from the Panhandle who has already committed to UCF.
“I was talking with him the whole time about possibly playing with him at UCF,” Marvin said.
Marvin had to leave UCF’s practice early because his team was competing in the IMG Madden 7on7 tournament in Bradenton. He said a UCF assistant coach told him he would be receiving an offer from head coach George O’Leary, but they had to meet in person first. Due to his scheduling conflict, Marvin was not able to talk with O’Leary after practice.
“I guess when I have a chance to stop back by there,” Marvin said of when he might receive a UCF offer. “I just got to get the offer from Coach O’Leary, I guess.”
Marvin, who is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, is hoping to add UCF to his list offers that include USF, Louisville, FIU, Troy and Western Michigan.
Even without an official UCF offer, Marvin said he was confident adding UCF to his new top-three list with Louisville and USF.
He said he would like to make a commitment to a school by the end of spring practice.
Marvin said a UCF offer would definitely put the Knights on par with USF and Louisville.
“I liked the fact knowing that they’re going into the Big East,” Marvin said of UCF. “… I can see myself going there in the future, but it all just depends. I have to wait, time will tell.”Brendan Sonnone is the Sentinel's recruiting correspondent and can be reached at email@example.com.
