On Sunday Oct. 27, at 2 p.m., four local Holocaust survivors — Sonja Marchesano, Sylvia Rapp, Eva Ritt and Harry Lowenstein — will share their memories of Kristallnacht at a special program at the Holocaust Center, 851 N. Maitland Ave., in Maitland.
They will talk about their experiences on the night of Nov. 10, 1938 and how they survived the war.
The event is part of Central Florida’s Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of Kristallnacht – the beginning of Hitler’s Final Solution.
The panel will be moderated by Professor Richard Gair of Valencia College. The program is free and open to the public. Free parking is available on site, and the building is fully handicap accessible.
A panel is part of a series of events to promote respect and diversity in society, and to empower the community to speak out against injustice.
More information about the community-wide collaboration is online at Kristallnacht2013.org.
