Coach Adrian Heath has challenged his team to pick up the pace after sluggish scoring efforts early in the season. He retooled Tuesday night’s the lineup to include Dennis Chin, Adama Mbengue and FC Dallas loanee Brian Span.
The result was a more spirited effort that led to an unassisted goal by Mbengue in the 15th minute. Mbengue later earned an assist on Molino’s first goal in the 47th minute. Molino scored one more time off an assist from Darwin Ceren to seal the victory.
Orlando City is now riding a three-game win streak, previously topping the Rochester Rhinos and Charleston Battery.
The Lions (3-0-2, 11 points) continue their road trip, facing OK Energy FC Saturday at 8 p.m.
