AUDITION NOTICE FROM MICHAEL WANZIE
I will be holding auditions for two shows at the same time. I will be casting the all female comedy LADIES AT THE ALAMO which I am directing and will play The Footlight Theatre Saturdays February 22 and March 1, 8 & 15 2014. I will also be casting the female roles for my three one acts being co-produced with D Squared Productions at the 2014 Orlando Fringe Festival – THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.
LADIES OF THE ALAMO
By Paul Zindel
Presented on Broadway, this biting, explosive and very funny play examines the behind-the-scenes intrigues and power struggles that beset a famous regional theatre and its long-time artistic director. "For alley cat savagery, it would be hard to top the verbal battle royal that constitutes LADIES AT THE ALAMO…" —Variety. "Mr. Zindel is a very crafty writer; he has written an old-fashioned, well-made play, and he has made it very well indeed, with stingingly funny repartee and smashing exits, with suspense and reversals galore." —Village Voice. "…the bitchiest, most hilarious female free-for-all since The Women…" —NY Daily News.
5 Women between the ages of 30 and mid 50s/60s. Three roles are for white Texas thoroughbred socialites. One role requires a very heavyset gal, and one is that of an aging Hollywood B-movie star.
All roles available. All roles paid based on Box Office shares.
Female impersonators may audition and will be given every consideration, though this is not intended to be a drag production. Female actors with the real stuff strongly encouraged to audition

3 One Act Plays by Michael Wanzie
The two male roles in NOT IN MY FATHERS HOUSE have been pre-cast. Me and Frank Casado will play the Catholic priest and former alter boy, respectively.
In A KRIG BREWS IN BROOKLYN, a successful Manhattan businesswoman attempts to convince her stubborn Jewish mother to move out of the Brooklyn brownstone she has called home for her entire life.
In RAINBOWS END a near-death drugged out late life Judy Garland hallucinates a return to Munchkin Land where she discovers Glenda has not aged well, and neither has the land of OZ.
Ideally we would like to cast only two actresses who would double their roles, but we will cast up to four as may be necessary.
Stereotypical New York Jewish Mother to play 55+
Jewish Daughter to play 30+
